As liquid helium is day by day becoming difficult to obtain, most research systems are developed with cryogen free operations. The purpose of a cryogen free cryostat is to maintain systems at cryogenic temperatures using Gifford type or Pulse Tube type cryocoolers, the operating temperatures and the allowable heat load are driving requirements of the design of cryostat. These requirements are achieved considering different aspects of design including; material selection, design of the thermal insulation system, cost, complexity and size.
Mr. Nayan Pandya Address at Cryogas Industries, we use two stage closed cycle cryocoolers for achieving temperatures of <4K (at sample) stage. Various cryostats like Vertical or horizontal bores cryostats at room temperature are a custom design. Magnet and cryostat are efficiently design for low heat load.
One of the project for a research organization a Cryogen free room temperature Bore Cryostat is developed, where A two-stage Pulse-Tube Type (PT) cryocooler with the second-stage cooling power of 1.5 W at 4.2 K is used to cool the superconducting magnet (Cold mass) from room temperature to 4.2 K. The superconducting magnet has the operating current of 400A, the effective warm bore size of 150 mm, and the maximum center field of 5 Tesla.
